The new Center for Nursing and Allied Health at Delgado Community College encompasses a 5-level, 120,000 SF, state-of-the-art facility including labs and modern classrooms. The new facility consolidates Delgado’s Nursing and Allied Health programs, alleviating the past inefficiencies of programs spread across numerous buildings on the City Park and Charity School of Nursing campuses. The new building provides next-generation facilities and technology for the next generation of nurses and allied health professionals, including traditional lecture classrooms, advanced labs simulating real-world healthcare delivery settings, and a virtual hospital floor. The center is located on Delgado’s City Park NOLA Campus and has a capacity for 1,500 students, including nearly 900 nursing students.
Ochsner Health committed $20M to the partnership, with half of those funds committed to the construction of the new facility, and the other half to pay tuition of their employees to pursue degrees and credentials at Delgado.
