The new 4-story, 150,000 SF center for educational, wellness, and healthcare simulation building was completed in January 2024. This facility encompasses office space, student and faculty dining areas, a gymnasium, fitness center, a large assembly hall (auditorium), clinical skills and simulation laboratories, academic learning environments, and student meeting and study spaces. The structure also features an Emerging Viral Threats (EVT) Lab equipped with both BSL-2 and BSL-3 laboratories.
The building’s iconic design serves as a prominent gateway and the central hub of the campus, fostering connectivity among the Schools of Medicine, Allied Health, and Graduate Studies, thereby creating a cohesive campus environment. The interior design prioritizes transparency and adaptability, promoting the showcasing of medical education and fostering interprofessional collaboration between faculty and students.
Upon completion, this project has delivered an inviting and dynamic student building that significantly contributes to the recruitment and retention of both students and faculty, enhancing the overall campus experience.
