Located in downtown Lafayette, Louisiana, First Baptist Church is a two-story, 106,000 SF structure encompassing a 2,000-seat sanctuary with an audio/visual package, a circular baptistery, a choir rehearsal room, library, classrooms, administration areas, and a television studio. Specialty scope items included refurbishing the existing 33,000-pound charred steeple and six original columns along with the original front door of the old fire-damaged church and incorporating them into the new building.
