This project brought a new terminal and supporting infrastructure to Lafayette Regional Airport. Contracted by the Lafayette Airport Commission, and delivered under Construction Management at Risk (CMaR) in a joint venture with Manhattan Construction Company, this project consists of five main components:
Landside Civil: Included the main passenger loop road, surface parking lots, detention ponds, and utilities associated with this portion of work. This work also included the pre-manufactured aluminum canopies for pedestrian walk-ways, VIP parking and ready return lot, and demolition of the existing terminal. Airside Civil: Included taxiway and apron expansions, apron lighting, and relocation of FAA cabling. Terminal Civil: Included paving, sewer, drainage, 7” concrete around the terminal building, and all utilities serving the site. RTR Relocation: Included all associated work to relocate the RTR facility, temporary relocation, and permanent RTR routing. Terminal Building: Included a new enclosed building totaling 114,500 square feet. This entailed the building foundations (drilled piers), structure (steel), envelope (masonry and curtain wall), interiors, FF&E of all LAC operational space. The scope also included all work associated with the passenger boarding bridges, baggage handling system, and “white box” spaces for the various leaseholders, including concessions space. The structural steel canopy consists of 17,603 square feet of standing seam roof, skylights and metal panels that will welcome passengers and visitors to the new airport.
