Located in Convent, LA, this project includes the construction of a new galvanizing plant and associated site improvements. Included in the scope is a new 61,000 SF galvanizing plant, a 9,800 SF pole run building, a 7,000 SF paint building and a 3,800 SF office building. Site work includes 18 acres of limestone laydown and traffic area and the improvement of 3,200 LF of access road.

Building construction includes deep pile foundations, pre-engineered metal buildings, and coordination/final connection of the owner-provided galvanizing equipment. The plant building houses four bridge cranes and eight monorail cranes. The main building is 552′ long with open ends on both sides. The unfinished steel will enter on one end of the building, travel through multiple dip tanks for chemical pre-treatment and galvanizing, and then exit as a finished product from the other end. Foundations include multiple deep concrete pits to house the chemical and zinc immersion tanks. Additional site improvements include interconnection of remote buildings with technology systems, a parking lot with 90 spaces, and site lighting.
